On January 31st 2009,  one club member competed in the Eastside Grade Championships that were held at Kamiakin Junior High in Kirkland.

In only his second tournament of the year, Aditya Uppala won four out of five games and finished in 3rd place overall.  Aditya won every game that hwas favored in and outperformed several players that were rated above him.  He walked away with a very nice trophy!
